Our Process
Our approach places the needs of children and young people at the forefront of everything we do, ensuring that our process is both child-centered and needs-led.
This child-centred and needs-led methodology provides a clear path towards maximising potential, resulting in positive outcomes for individuals, educational settings, families, and communities. By adhering to this process, we maintain consistency across our team and various settings, whether our work is individual, targeted, or school-wide.
We adhere to an ‘assess, plan, do, review’ process: Whenever possible, we follow this model, as outlined in the SEND Code of Practice (2015), recognising it as the best practice framework for special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), educational settings, and psychologists.
Our Approach
At Psychology 365, we prioritise meeting the needs of children and young people. To achieve this, we ensure that any specific assessments, interventions, or direct work are conducted only after an initial discussion. This initial discussion helps us understand the background and your expectations for our involvement. It ensures that any services we provide are tailored to appropriately identify and address needs.
Initial Discussion
Understanding the background and setting expectations.
Assessment
Conducting thorough evaluations based on the discussion.
Planning
Developing a customised plan to address identified needs.
Implementation
Carrying out the planned interventions or direct work.
What Happens During the
'Assess and Plan' Stage?
During the assess and plan stage of our process, we gain a comprehensive understanding of the situation by exploring the background of the individual, group, or context. At this stage, we focus on assessing the situation rather than evaluating specific individuals or groups. We refer to this phase as an initial discussion, where we listen to relevant experiences and perspectives.
Gathering information on what works well, current concerns, input from other professionals, and expectations provides a foundation for our involvement.

Promoting Positive Contributions and Lasting Change
Our process emphasises the central role of the children and young people we work with, ensuring their needs are addressed so they can positively contribute to their environments—whether at home, in educational settings, or within the wider community. By gaining a holistic understanding of each child or young person, we tailor our support to create lasting positive changes in their education, home life, and community involvement. Collaborative efforts and shared responsibilities among all stakeholders help guarantee that every child or young person is happy, safe, and prepared to face life’s challenges.
